People may only have sweet potato pie during Thanksgiving, but Rose Mary’s Gourmet Pies has changed the narrative. Sweet potatoes have earned the name of “Superfood” given the amount of nutrients they contain which makes them worth devouring all year round.
Rose Mary’s Gourmet Pies focuses on featuring spectacular, delicious and unique pies. The company was founded in 2021 by disabled veteran, Terry Kenney, who was inspired to bake by his late mother, Rose Mary Kenney. Mr. Kenney was born and raised in a small town in Kentucky and spent much of his time learning how to cook from his mother’s kitchen. His mother and sister, Vanetta, were known as the neighborhood bakers. A burning desire to keep his mother’s talent alive grew when she passed away in November of 2021.
Mr. Kenney started baking a variety of sweet potato pie flavors during the Holiday season of that year. The week of Christmas, he sold over 80 sweet potato pies ranging from mango, peach and pineapple. He was impressed as sales were strictly from word of mouth. All who purchased raved about how delicious they were and now are repeat customers.
Mr. Kenney’s dream has always been to showcase the recipes he learned from his mother in Paris, Kentucky to the public. The most recent flavors include Ol’ Kentucky, an original sweet potato pie, and fan favorite, Bourbon Peach Pecan sweet potato pie!
